In the last year Bali has been at the forefront of everyones mouths, and it’s fair to say the land of healthy eating and beautiful rice fields truly lives up to expectations. So here’s our Bali itinerary to help you plan your visit and figure out where to go in Bali.
Bali is a small island and after arriving in Denpasar airport everything will be within a 4 hour journey across the island. Although here is our tried and tested efficient route of Bali.
Our Bali Itinerary – Where To Go In Bali?
The first stop for most holiday makers! Good for its night life and high end restaurants. You won’t really get a feel for Bali here as it’s very built up and a popular holiday destination amongst tourists. This will most likely be your first stop and most expensive one.
A foodies heaven! Just up the road from Seminyak but completely different! This is where you see the smoothie bowls and avocados everywhere. Canggu has a very laid back vibe and is popular amongst the surfing and digital nomad communities. This is the place where many people extend their stay because it has a certain homely feel to it. They run beautiful markets in Canggu selling all kinds of chic and start up fashion labels. We guarantee you won’t walk away with your hands empty.

Ubud… Where do we start? If you’re asking yourself where to go in Bali? Then the zen capital is the single place where every one of your expectations will be fulfilled. From the outstanding rice terraces to the crazy monkey forests. It’s pretty much exactly how Eat, Pray, Love depicts the island.

Not such a popular tourist spot but an easy way to break up the drive between Ubud and Lovina is by stopping by Bedugal. Known by locals as the coldest place in Bali, there are some beautiful early morning rises worth getting up for.
Visiting Pura Alun Danau Beratan (Bali’s most famous temple) is a must and the Handara Golf and Country Club entrance has become somewhat a bucket list item thanks to Instagram!
Way way up in the fields and overlooking the most beautiful of ocean views lays Lovina. Great for dolphin watching and waterfall hunting if you visit the north of Bali be sure to head out to Sekumpul, Gitgit and Sambangan falls!
Gili Islands (Ferry from Padang Bai)
A lot of travellers don’t realise that the famous Gili Islands everybody visits on their Bali trip, are actually part of the Lombok rather than Bali. Either way we’ve noted them in the guide because they are well worth the hour boat trip out East to visit.
For crystal clear waters, diving and snorkelling adventures and a few famous sunset swings you won’t want to miss Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno. If you love turtles, Gili T is turtle heaven!
Nusa Penida & Nusa Lembongan
If it’s white beaches and island life you’re looking for then these two are a slice of heaven! Just a 40 minute boat ride from the main land the Nusa islands have become super famous through social media. Especially thanks to Kelingking Beach and the crazy dinosaur head shaped rock formation!
Uluwatu, Nusa Dua & Jimbaran – The southern bubble of Bali also gives a great place to unwind and is where you can find some of The Best Beaches In Bali. With spots such as Padang Padang, Bingin and Jimbaran Bay you won’t be stuck for ideas.
There are plenty of surf spots and places to explore in the south and you may even come across the abandoned airplane. A perfect final stop before you head back to the airport and hopefully find a working one.
