Merese Hill (Bukit Merese Lombok) is the perfect place to catch sunset in Kuta with stunning views of the southern coastline. Here’s all you need to know.
How To Get To Merese Hill AKA Bukit Merese Lombok
Merese Hill, known locally as Bukit Merese Lombok, is around a 20 minute drive East from Kuta – the main tourist area in Lombok.
We rented scooters for 50,000 IDR a day and chose to explore the south of Lombok on two wheels.
Drivers are available throughout town to rent daily if you’re not confident on scooters and Merese Hill is easy to find using the google map below.
If you’re visiting Merese Hill for sunset, make sure to spend the day at Tanjung Aan Beach – A MUST Visit which is located within the same grounds.
Entrance – 10,000 IDR per scooter – covers Tanjung Ann & Merese Hill
Sunset At Merese Hill Lombok
So we’d heard it was the best spot for sunset in the South and it didn’t disappoint!
We headed up to Merese Hill at around 5pm after a long day of exploring around Kuta. We’d visted Tanjung Aan the day prior and didn’t realise Bukit Merese was located within the same grounds, so had to pay once again on entrance. Learn from our mistakes!
The parking is so close to the hill that it’s only a tiny walk up and the view is incredible!
There’s a single lonely tree that’s become quite the photo spot on social media. So after playing around and getting some shots we were just in time for a pastel skyline.
The simplicity of the surroundings at the top of Bukit Merese makes for such a calm setting. And we were lucky enough to catch the best sunset of our Lombok trip!
If you’re heading to Kuta anytime soon make sure to save one evening for a trip to the top of Bukit Merese Lombok and you won’t be left disappointed!
