Landing in India was one of the craziest experiences of all our travels. Although once we adjusted to the climate and the culture there are plenty of places to visit in Delhi. So here are our top picks of things to do in Delhi and where to explore.

The Red Fort
One of the most historic forts in India.
The Red Fort was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty for nearly 200 years and now remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
India Gate Delhi
Built in 1931 and initially named as ‘All India War Memorial’, India Gate commemorates the soldiers who fought and died in World War I and the Afghan Wars.
Delhi Lotus Temple
One of the most beautiful places to visit in Delhi, and we should hope so too costing $10 million to build!
With its crystal blue waters guarding the entrance, Delhi Lotus Temple makes for a great photo opportunity and is certainly a unique place of worship in India.
Explore the streets of Chandni Chowk.
From the spice markets to the rooftops this is the rawest of Old Delhi you can find. Chandni Chowk is a busy shopping area with markets full of spices, dried fruit, silver jewelry and vivid saris and while the narrow side streets are crowded they make for one hell of an experience!
Eat Delhi Chaat – Indian Street Food
The first thing you’re going to want to do in India is try the cuisine! So we definitely advised taking a walk around the city and trying some of the Delhi chaat.
But what is Delhi Chaat? – Chaat is a savory snack originated in India, typically served at the road-side from stalls or food carts. With its origins in Uttar Pradesh, chaat has become immensely popular in the rest of the Indian subcontinent.
So in other words – from the traditional samosas to the Asian inspired momos, go out and grab some cheap street food! We couldn’t get enough of the Indian spices and are sure you’ll love it too!
We headed out on a Saturday night with some of the guys from our accommodation to check out the Delhi nightlife.
Don’t ask us where we ended up, but it was an evening of laughs and definitely an experience. Partying in one of the most populated cities in the world is a must!
