We’d heard such great things about W hotel, which naturally made us super excited for our first stay with the worldwide chain…and it certainly didn’t disappoint…
In the heart of the concrete jungle, amongst all the other skyscrapers and hotel chains, we had the pleasure of staying in one of most beautiful Spectacular Rooms at W Bangkok.
From the moment we walked in, we were in complete and utter awe of the precise details. Not only that, there was a story behind everything. In case you didn’t know the chain runs a theme throughout each of its hotels around the world dependent on which country it lays in. So the Bangkok theme…Thai boxing. From the tiger and phoenix wall art made from crystals, to the boxing ropes securing the bar and lounge areas, the stylish decor and details really made W standout amongst the competition in Bangkok.
We were swiftly checked in by the smiling faces and greeted with welcome drinks by the marketing manager Bow. She gave us a brief tour of the grounds and facilities including the incredible House on Sathorn, a colonial mansion built in 1889 and a Thai national heritage home. What was once home to the owner has now been converted in a bar, courtyard and number of meeting rooms as well as being listed as one of Asia’s best restaurants in 2017.
After the tour we were escorted to our room to find that the ‘Thai boxing’ theme really did flow throughout. With large boxing gloves on the bed and intricate details around us, knowing the creativity and planning that had gone into all the designs made our stay that extra special.
The huge, plush bed had us completely switched off in no time. The comfort and quality moulded you into the perfects nights sleep and the handy little bedside tablet gave complete control of all lighting and air con, meaning we hardly had to move from under our duvet.
Fully equipped with all the high end amenities and extras, including mouth and face wash, the bathroom screamed class. With mirrors and glass taking priority and bold lighting bouncing off the surfaces, it really finished the room with a modern touch.
Our favourite place to chill though was of course by the pool. Situated on the 6th floor, with its quirky bar and uniquely structured splash pad it was not only the centre piece of the hotel but the ultimate place to relax amongst the hustle and bustle going on below. The best thing about the pool was not only the stunning views it gave but the fact that it was open for guest access 24 hours a day.
As well as plenty of other features such as the Away Spa, Fit Gym and Wired Business Centre we couldn’t leave the review with given The Kitchen Table a mention. Serving up a huge selection of fresh pastries and international cuisines, its buffet breakfast left us definitely satisfied and even a bit stuffed after a delicious morning feast.
Ideal for fun and relaxation, the W has nailed the mix of class and leisure and the 5 star hotel really stood out to us in BKK. From the carefully chosen theme to the sophisticated attention to detail and the story behind every small pattern or picture, Hotel W was bursting with style and fashion making our stay a definite one to remember.
