Checking In: Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Manila

Our final stop in the Philippines was one to remember as we headed straight towards Ortigas Centre for a couple of nights of luxury…

Touching down in the Capital we knew we were in good hands as soon as we arrived. We were warmly welcomed to the world renowned Crowne Plaza by the team and were excited for our two night stay in the city.

Upon entry everything was beautifully decorated from the stairway, to the foyer and there were smiling faces on hand to help us as soon as we walked through the doors.

The receptionists and the team quickly checked us in and made sure we were looked after as we were escorted to our Executive Suite for our weekend stay. Our suite was located on the 17th floor which also gave us access to the Club Lounge overlooking the city.

We spent a total of two nights unwinding in what can only be described as perfection. With a spacious living area, an office work station and a huge attached bedroom we’d found our own little ‘home from home’ in Manila.

A spotless ensuite added the finishing touches to the room, which included both a large bath tub and separate jet shower – heaven!

Aside from the room there were plenty of other highlights during our stay, the first of which being the food!

With the choice of two fine dining restaurants on site we decided to check them both out.

Seven Corners was our first stop for an evening buffet. It certainly lived up to its name by delivering every cuisine a foodie could dream of, from Western to Asian and everything in between. It’s made up of seven international cuisines laid out across seven self serve stations. Needless to say the food was of five star quality and the team of chefs were so friendly and happy to help with recommendations.

The second of our evening meals came in the form of a Chinese buffet. We switched over to Xin Tian Di, TripAdvisors #1 rated restaurant in Quezon City, and having read some rave reviews we were super excited to visit. Now, we don’t class ourselves as experts on Asian food but it didn’t disappoint! The dimsum was to die for and the layout of the restaurant was very warm and welcoming. The service could not be faulted and we left fully content, in fact, it’s fair to say we ‘over indulged’.

Apart from the dining options we have to give a mention to Bar One. It’s laid back atmosphere and amazing live music was certainly our kind of vibe – so much so that we ended both of our evenings there. It was a calm relaxed atmosphere and a nice break from the mad rush that can be Manila.

We spent an awesome couple of days exploring Manila, although everything we needed was at our finger tips within the hotel grounds. With direct access to Robinsons Galleria Mall from the 3rd and 4th floors, guest access to Gold’s Gym for those wanting to keep fit and an outdoor pool area there was really no need to leave.

Our favourite hour of our weekend though came thanks to the Neo Day Spa where we completely unwound. The smells, soft sounds and awesome Lomi Lomi body massage switched us off from everything else in the world and finished our tour of the Philippines beautifully.
