Blue Church Bratislava – The City’s Gem
The Blue Church is located in the eastern part of the Old Town in Bratislava.
As the city is quite small, the Blue Church Bratislava is easily accessible by foot.
If you’re not really down for walking, you can catch the local transport such as trams or buses. We didn’t use the local transport at all on our few days in the capital as everything is within walking distance.
The other option in Bratislava is to download the Taxify app. If you’re in a rush or need an airport transfer Taxify is a saviour!

If you’re into fairytale buildings, quirky photography or even the colour blue, the Blue Church Bratislava is a definite must see when you’re visiting Slovakia.
The Blue Church Bratislava was built in the early 20th century and is a masterpiece of the Art Nouveau. The interior of the church is also themed mostly blue.
The church was dedicated to St Elizabeth who was born in Bratislava. She was the Empress of Austria as well as Queen of Hungary and she died in the year 1898. Her portrait is inside above the church’s portal. She’s holding a bunch of flowers in her arms, symbolising how she used to give to the poor.
If you’re lucky, you might even witness a wedding if you’re passing by on a Saturday. The Blue Church Bratislava is one of the most favourite places for a church wedding.
