7 Best Eiffel Tower Photo Spots

If you’re looking for the best Eiffel Tower photo spots in Paris, here’s our guide so that you can go home with all your perfect postcard shots.

What Photography Gear Do We Use?

One of our most commonly asked questions, is how we take all of the couple photos seen on our Instagram. And of course, our camera gear plays a big part in that.

So before we start, we take all of our photos using a Canon 90D and a Zomei Tripod, and as always our best advice is to arrive at a location as early as possible.

Getting Around Paris + Tips

Getting around Paris couldn’t be easier. There are generally 3 options:

Before we start, if you’re looking for transfers from the airport to your hotel, you can secure a cheap and easy Charles De Gaulle and Orly Airport Shared Minivan Transfer here.

By Public Transport:

There are metro and bus lines running throughout Paris, and these are the easiest ways to get around the capital.

We grabbed a Metro Day Pass which allows unlimited travel for 24 hours on the metro, and jumped on the underground in-between tourist spots.

The Metro Day Passes are available to purchase at any station and cost €7.50 per adult.

Some of the gaps between destinations are walkable, depending on how much ground you wish to cover and how much time you have.

By Hop On Hop Off Bus:

Standard buses are available around Paris.

However, there is also of course the famous Paris Hop-on, Hop-off Sightseeing Bus.

This bus lets you jump on and off throughout the city, and explore monuments such as the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Élysées, Notre Dame and the world-famous Musée du Louvre.

This option is always popular among tourists, and a is great way to see many famous landmarks around Paris at ease.

By Tour:

Some of the best days out we’ve had in Paris have been on private tours.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

From food tours, to river cruises and beer baths, there’s plenty to keep you busy in the French capital!

1. Eiffel Tower From Trocadero Steps

So of course the Eiffel Tower tops the photography list when visiting Paris, but where to get the shot from?

There are many angles when it comes to the iconic iron tower, our favourite being sunrise at the Trocadero steps.

To reach this point we recommend catching the metro to Trocadero station, which drops you just metres away from the viewing platform, and you will walk out to the most incredible view!

It’s an ideal place to start your day at sunrise, even if you just sit back and enjoy the view.

2. Eiffel Tower From Place Du Trocadero

After the sun has slightly risen you can head back from the steps, to the platform at Place du Trocadero.

Here it’s a lot easier to dodge the crowds. Plus you don’t have to worry so much about the background, you can just focus yourself in the foreground.

3. Eiffel Tower From Rue De L’université

Another angle of the most famous tower in the world. And one of the most Instagrammable Eiffel Tower photo spots.

This time from a quirky Paris backstreet.

Like a scene from a movie, we headed over to Rue De L’universite in the late afternoon and if you google the street name, this spot is easy enough to find.

Try and get there before sunset, because that’s when the crowds start emerging and this spot was actually very difficult to avoid people getting in the shot.

4. Eiffel Tower From Pont d’Iéna

Pont d’Iéna is a bridge spanning the River Seine in Paris.

It links the Eiffel Tower on the Left Bank, to the district of Trocadéro on the Right Bank.

We were heading over from the Trocadéro side and our friend happened to capture this candid, which we later fell in love with!

Although there are roads, there were very few vehicles so it’s pretty much a free reign for photographers.

5. Eiffel Tower From Underneath

You can’t get much closer that this without standing on top of the Eiffel Tower itself.

However if you do wish to go up the Eiffel tower, there are two ways of doing it:

With a guide: Eiffel Tower Guided Summit or 2nd Floor Priority Access Tour.

Or alone: Eiffel Tower Second Floor Priority Access.

Standing underneath it is a pretty cool photo though, and it’s an easy enough location to find!

6. Eiffel Tower From Champ De Mars

What better way to end your Paris trip than by watching the sun set over the Eiffel Tower with a bottle of wine or a picnic.

Grab some food, grab some friends and take in the true ambience of the surrounding area from Champ De Mars!

7. Eiffel Tower At Night (Pont d’Iéna)

Whilst wondering the streets of Paris, it’s hard not to capture the beauty of the lightly lit avenues.

Possibly our favourite photo/memory was on our way home one evening when we looked back and caught a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower from a distance.

We couldn’t resist but to create our own typical romantic Paris shot.
