14 Most Instagrammable Places In Paris

Looking for the most Instagrammable places in Paris to fill your feed with beauty? Then look no further. Here’s our ultimate Paris Instagram spots guide.

What Photography Gear Do We Use?

One of our most commonly asked questions, is how we take all of the couple photos seen on our Instagram. And of course, our camera gear plays a big part in that.

So before we start, we take all of our photos using a Canon 90D and a Zomei Tripod, and as always our best advice is to arrive at a location as early as possible.

Getting Around Paris + Tips

Getting around Paris couldn’t be easier. There are generally 3 options:

Before we start, if you’re looking for transfers from the airport to your hotel, you can secure a cheap and easy Charles De Gaulle and Orly Airport Shared Minivan Transfer here.

By Metro:

There are metro and bus lines running throughout Paris, and these are the easiest ways to get around the capital.

We grabbed a Metro Day Pass which allows unlimited travel for 24 hours on the metro, and jumped on the underground in-between tourist spots.

The Metro Day Passes are available to purchase at any station and cost €7.50 per adult.

Some of the gaps between destinations are walkable, depending on how much ground you wish to cover and how much time you have.

By Hop On Hop Off Bus:

Standard buses are available around Paris.

However, there is also of course the famous Paris Hop-on, Hop-off Sightseeing Bus.

This bus lets you jump on and off throughout the city, and explore monuments such as the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Élysées, Notre Dame and the world-famous Musée du Louvre.

This option is always popular among tourists, and a is great way to see many famous landmarks around Paris at ease.

By Tours:

Some of the best days out we’ve had in Paris have been on private tours.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

From food tours, to river cruises and beer baths, there’s plenty to keep you busy in the French capital!

1. Eiffel Tower – Trocadero Steps

So of course the Eiffel Tower tops the photography list when visiting Paris, but where to get the shot from?

There are many angles when it comes to the iconic iron tower, our favourite being sunrise at the Trocadero steps.

To reach this point we recommend catching the metro to Trocadero station, which drops you just metres away from the viewing platform, and you will walk out to the most incredible view!

It’s an ideal place to start your day at sunrise. Even if you just sit back and enjoy the view of this, the most famous of the Paris Instagram spots.

2. Eiffel Tower – Place du Trocadero

After the sun has slightly risen you can head back from the steps, to the platform at Place du Trocadero.

Here it’s a lot easier to dodge the crowds. Plus you don’t have to worry so much about the background, you can just focus yourself in the foreground.

3. Arc De Triomphe

Next up, The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous Paris Instagram spots, both for historical and photography reasons.

It has the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces.

You will need tickets to visit the Arc De Triomphe rooftop, which can be booked in advance here.

We headed straight to The Ace de Triomphe after the Eiffel Tower, arriving at around 7am to capture our shot with an empty background!

Quick tip: If you head there early enough, there will be less traffic on the roundabout and hardly any tourists.

4. The Louvre

Home to the Mona Lisa, and also one of the most photographed landmarks in Paris.

How can you go to the French capital and not take a visit to the Louvre Museum.

Tickets for the Louvre are €15 per adult if bought at the entrance, however the queues can be huge for the this attraction. So we recommend the Louvre Museum Timed-Entrance Ticket.

With this ticket you will be given a time that you must enter, allowing you to skip the queues and spend as much time as you like inside the museum to explore at your own pace.

However, if you just wish to visit from the outside, the grounds are completely free to visit.

We asked our followers on Instagram where they most wanted to see a photo of us in Paris, and the Louvre pyramids came in at first place!

5. Sacre-Coeur

After the Eiffel Tower, the Sacre-Coeur is actually the second highest point in the city!

Standing at the top of Montmartre Hill, you’ll have to climb the many steps to reach the famous Roman Catholic Church. However, attracting around 10 million visitors per year, the view from the top is worth the walk.

The option is there to take a tour with a local guide, around not only the Sacre-Coeur, but the whole Montmartre area.

Or alternatively, if you like to explore at your own pace, you can book a Sacré-Cœur and Its Surroundings Audioguide.

Giving a birds eye view over the whole of Paris, the Sacre-Coeur itself is like no other religious building we’ve ever seen.

Take your time and explore the area before heading back down into Montmartre.

6. Paris At Night

Whilst wondering the streets of Paris it’s hard not to capture the beauty of the lightly lit avenues.

Possibly our favourite photo/memory was on our way home one evening when we looked back and caught a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower from a distance.

We couldn’t resist but to create our own typical romantic Paris shot on this wall.

A magical moment in the city of love that we’ll never forget!

7. Sinking House Of Montmartre

When you talk about Instagrammable places in Paris, this one should top the list.

Rising to fame thanks to social media, this photographic illusion seems as though the grand old block of flats is falling to it’s death. However, it’s a just simple tilt of the camera and WE are in fact supporting ourselves from rolling down the hill!

This spot located right next door to the Sacre-Coeur makes for a great postcard photo.

If you take a Montmartre 2-Hour Walking Tour, I’m sure you’re guide will point this photographic illusion out to you from the base of the Sacre-Coeur.

8. Le Consulat

Possibly the most famous cafe in Paris, again thanks to Instagram, and the beautiful red and white colours compliment anyone’s feed.

Located deep in the streets of Montmartre, be sure to pop in and grab yourself a coffee to keep you going on your Paris Instagram spots tour. And of course grab a candid photo on the way out!

Please be careful when setting up photos here, as you may not realise but it’s actually a road for vehicles.

9. La Maison Rose

Montmartre, as you may have gathered, is one of the quirkiest and most tourist friendly areas in Paris.

Unfortunately, La Maison Rose was closed when we visited. Although we couldn’t help but add it to our Instagrammable places in Paris list.

This pretty little pink corner restaurant was where we’d planned on enjoying lunch, so if you get the chance to yourself, let us know how it is!

10. Moulin Rouge

If you have the time, you must add a show at the famous Moulin Rouge to your Paris bucket list.

This world-famous cabaret, performed in a 19th-century windmill, has been exciting audiences since 1900.

There are two shows each night at 9.00pm and 11.00pm, both lasting 1 hour 30 minutes each.

Tickets must be booked in advance, and the best place to get them is here Moulin Rouge Show with Champagne.

We didn’t manage to get tickets, although as we passed by the most famous cabaret in the world, we couldn’t pass up on the opportunity of adding it to our Paris Instagram spots.

Another fancy option, maybe for those celebrating in Paris, is the Eiffel Tower, Dinner, Cruise, & Champagne at Moulin Rouge Package.

11. Pigalle Basketball Court

Probably the latest of the Instagrammable places in Paris.

This crazily coloured basketball court isn’t top of everyones ‘places to visit’ list – but it sure does make a great photo.

Believe it or not it was actually packed of youngsters playing basketball. So although we couldn’t get too creative on the court, we managed to still grab a colourful photo on the side steps!

We got a few funny looks, but it’s certainly becoming more and more popular with photographers as one of the top Paris Instagram spots!

12. Cathedral Notre Dame

This ones for the Disney lovers!

The pure architecture and history behind the Notre Dame Cathedral make it one of the most Instagrammable places in Paris.

Take a step back into your childhood and visit the one and only home of Quasimodo.

Fortunately we managed to get this photo without getting any tomatoes though at us (reference to the movie for those that haven’t seen it).

Fun fact: this medieval Catholic cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture to date.

13. Eiffel Tower – Rue De L’université

Another angle of the most famous tower in the world.

This time from a quirky backstreet, and another of the most Instagrammable places in Paris.

Like a scene from a movie, we headed over to Rue De L’universite in the late afternoon and if you google the street name, this spot is easy enough to find.

Try and get there before sunset, because that’s when the crowds start emerging and this spot was actually very difficult to avoid people getting in the shot.

14. Picnic At Champ De Mars

The final photo in our Instagrammable places in Paris guide.

What better way to end your Paris trip than by watching the sun set over the Eiffel Tower with a bottle of wine or a picnic.

Grab some food, grab some friends and take in the true ambience of the surrounding area!

There’s plenty of grass for everyone, so even if you don’t fancy taking photos to add to your Paris Instagram spots, it makes for a great way to wind down from the hectic days in the city.
