The famous Luang Prabang waterfall is one of the bluest on the planet and is not to be missed! So here’s all you need to know when visiting Kuang Si Falls.
Where is the famous Luang Prabang waterfall?
Kuang Si Falls takes around 45 minutes by car or motorcycle from Luang Prabang. We took a car but there are many places in town where you can rent motorcycles.
It’s a 5 minute walk from the carpark and leads through a beautiful forest. On your way through you’ll also pass a bear sanctuary.
Entrance – 20,000 Kip
Our Day At Kuang Si Falls
When we arrived at this stunning Luang Prabang waterfall we were completely in awe of how blue the water was. We quickly realised that this place has never needed that blue touch in photoshop!
There are 5 tiers of incredible blue waters before reaching the huge Kuang Si Falls itself. All tiers are all great for swimming, jumping and bathing.
There is one main tier, tier three, at the Luang Prabang waterfall where most of the tourists head to and it’s the one with the tree trunk hanging over the pools.
The tree branch used to be way longer as you may have notice in other people’s photos but the branch fell off, so now it’s more of a stub.
You can still jump from this tree and enjoy the huge pools below. We’d say this is also the most photogenic part of Kuang Si Falls.
Luxury – The Luang Say Residence – We had the pleasure of stay at Luang Say for 4 nights and it could not have been better. The suites were incredible, the food was of 5 star quality and the pool and service were immaculate!
