Our Philippines itinerary map – covering the best islands in the Philippines.

Palawan

Furthest West of the islands and a perfect place to begin your Philippines route. Also, home to the clearest water and most beautiful islands we witnessed!

Trust us, if there’s one place you HAVE to go on your trip it’s El Nido and Coron. Your best bet is to fly into Puerto Princesa and travel up the island of Palwan by bus. For us Palawan was definitely one of the best islands in the Philippines!

Siargao

Next up we flew to the furthest East and stopped at our favourite island.

Its laid back vibes and hippie atmosphere captured our hearts and if you’re looking to chill, surf or eat green then Siargao is the up and coming spot!

Cebu

Now to the central Visayas region and Cebu is a great place to use as a base.

Home to Kawasan Falls and Oslob’s famous wild whale sharks, the island also gives easy access to Bohol, Siquijor and Negros Oriental by ferry.

Also if you still need to visit anywhere that’s too far to ferry, Cebu is your best bet for cheap return flights.

Bohol

Most popular for its Chocolate Hills, our list of things to do was topped by waterfalls and beaches.

The island of Panglao, attached to the bottom of Bohol, is a beach lovers heaven and the mainland is screaming with adventure!

Siquijor

Another one of our faves! We loved Siquijor, we guess because we’re big waterfall chasers.

Our advice is to rent a bike and search the rope swings and cliff jumps throughout the island! Easily top three of our best islands in the Philippines.

Negros & Panay

We actually got caught up in a typhoon which cancelled our Negros/Panay plans and left us stranded in Dumaguete. Our original plan WAS to head from Dumaguete through Manjuyod Sandbar and up to Bacolod, before crossing over to Iloilo and finally ending up in Boracay – widely rated as the most beautiful beach in the Philippines. Locals say it’s turned into a bit of a tourist trap now…although we can’t vouch but will definitely head back on our next visit.

Manila

So our Philippines itinerary finally led us to the big apple of the Philippines!

We used it as a stop gap to fly out from and to be honest didn’t do a lot. A bit of an anti climax to the blog haha, but the capital is definitely as crazy as everyone makes out!

Thanks guys, this is really helpful! We’re heading to the Philippines in March and it’s actually really hard to decide where to go exactly and how long to stay. This article definitely gave us a good inside. Have a good day 🙂

Aww thanks Doris! Yes Philippines can be a tricky one to plan and more expensive than most of Asia because of flights but it’s definitely our favourite country in the world! 😁

Your site is really great! Thanks for that. Could you possibly tell us how long you stayed where? That would be great, because you can plan better.

    Greetings from Germany 🙂

Hey Shenja, thanks so much 🙂 Ok, so we stayed around a week on each island! Apart from Siquijor and Siargao where we only spent 4 nights!
