Red & Rose Valley Cappadocia is certainly the no.1 spot for sunset. With the rock colours changing in every type of daylight, here’s all the visiting info.
Red & Rose Valley Cappadocia – An Epic Sunset
The most popular place to stay in Cappadocia is Goreme, and then Uchisar. Uchisar being much more quiet and laid back. We stayed in both towns and they are equally as stunning with completely different vibes.
From Goreme to Red and Rose Valley Cappadocia it takes around 10 minutes by car, and from Uchisar around 15 minutes.
Rent A Driver – The cost of a driver for a couple of hours should cost no more than 100 Turkish Lyra (around 17 Euros) – a good option if you only want to see a few places. Like the other valleys, Rose Valley especially can be pretty tricky to find alone so to avoid confusion, we chose to rent a driver.
Rent A Scooter – You can rent motorcycles for 80-100 Turkish Lyra per day. If you’re not a confident scooter driver though, we’d say give this option a miss. Some of the roads are like dirt tracks so it can be pretty easy to lose control.
Rent an ATV – If you’re looking for the most adventurous option, renting an ATV would certainly be a great option. The prices differentiate depending on how long you want to rent one for as well as which company you use. Some companies let you rent them alone and some companies prefer a tour guide to come along with you. The prices start at around 35 Euros for 2 hours.
Entrance: 6 Turkish Lira Per Person. (Around US $1)
There are toilets on site also which are 1 Turkish Lira.
Red Valley and Rose Valley Cappadocia get their name from the pinkish red-coloured rock that varies throughout different times of the day.

Red Valley and Rose Valley Cappadocia are a must visit, especially at sunset because all the orchards, rock churches and fairy chimneys all blend together to create an unforgettable landscape.
Red and Rose valleys wind out from the backside of Cavusin and end up either at the sunset point near Ortahisar or at Kaya Camping above Goreme Open Air Museum.
With Red and Rose Valley Cappadocia being in it’s prime hour of beauty at sunset, you can imagine it gets a little busy. You’ll find plenty of tourists, locals selling souvenirs and even wedding shoots.
We didn’t personally hike the Red Valley due to limited time, but it’s definitely known as one of the best hikes in Cappadocia. With it being highly spoken of and the most beautiful sunset point, if you’re into hiking, Red and Rose Valley Cappadocia has to be your number one choice.
In the cooler seasons, starting around September the hikes can be started in the late afternoon and you can end up at the Red and Rose Valley Cappadocia for sunset around 6:30/7pm. The hikes are not so strenuous and there are many different routes you can take.
