Sairee Beach In Koh Tao Guide

Sairee Beach In Koh Tao Guide

Sairee Beach Koh Tao is the main hub of the island and the best place to catch a Koh Tao Sunset. So here’s everything you need to know about Sairee Beach.

How To Get To Sairee Beach Koh Tao

Sairee Beach Koh Tao is a huge 2km stretch of sand located on the West side of the island.

It’s the most popular tourist beach on Koh Tao, and we stayed at the Northern end of Sairee Beach, which is family friendly and great for restaurants and street food.

If you’re looking for transport to and from Koh Tao, you can pre-book all of your Lomprayah transfers here.

We rented scooters for 150 Baht per day. This is the easiest way possible to explore the whole island.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

Sairee Beach Koh Tao is the place where most people stay as it’s close to all the best things happening. It’s also known as one of the best beaches on Koh Tao.

Many people visit Koh Tao to go diving, so all the best diving shops are located along Sairee Beach.

It’s also a super popular place to chill and spend the day sunbathing. You can pop into one of the cool restaurants for lunch so you don’t have to go too far.

There are swings and oddly shaped palm trees along the beach that make for a perfect photo opportunity.

Sairee Beach Sunsets!

Sun sets on this side of the island too so it’s an awesome place to hang out for the evening. The majority of the tourists head over to Sairee Beach for a killer Koh Tao sunset.

All the best bars are located along Sairee Beach. So you can grab a beer or a coke and perch yourself in a comfortable spot to see the day out.

With chilled music, warm lighting and bean bags pretty much scattered along the whole strip, the vibe really sets the scene for a unforgettable sunset.

After your stunning Koh Tao sunset, you can walk down the streets into the night markets to get cheap Thai or Western food. As well as delicious fruit shakes. You can even do a spot of souvenir shopping! The streets really do come alive at night time.

Hey, some of your photos look stunning, but I can't work out which end of the beach they are. Do you recommend the north, south or somewhere in the middle as the nicest place to stay? Thanks!

Hey Helen, thanks so much! So we stayed at the north end and our friends stayed at the south end. Either are great for beach and sunset and much quieter than the middle which is more of the party area. North is good for street food and markets also.
