Selong Belanak Beach is a beautiful white sand beach ideal for beginner surfers. We headed out West from Kuta to hit the beaches for the day and here’s everything you need to know before visiting.

Selong Belanak Beach – Learn To Surf In Lombok
If you’re looking to learn to surf in Lombok then Selong Belanak Beach is your spot.
The beach itself is made up of white powdery sand and although the water isn’t the clearest, that doesn’t matter to the people that visit.
That’s because the majority of visitors to Selong Belanak Beach are heading out West to take on beginner surf lessons or to practise their new found hobby!
Many boats were docked up on the shore with locals preparing fresh fish. As we arrived and the tourists were out in full swing.
The steady waves continued to roll in and we sat and watched for a while as first timers practised and practised standing up on their boards. The locals seemed super friendly and patient when helping the novice surfers so if you’re looking to learn to surf in Lombok we’re guessing this is one of the best places to try.
There are plenty of beach shacks and bamboo chairs sprawled out along the beach for guests to relax on and grab lunch before getting back out into the waves.
