We were recommended to check out Tembeling Natural Pool and jumped at the chance of diving into the tropical blue waters. So here’s all you need to know.
How To Get To Tembeling Natural Pool (Tembeling Beach and Forest)
We broke down day 2 of our Nusa Penida tour by visiting Banah Cliff Point, Tembeling Natural Pools and Peguyangan Waterfall on scooters. The roads are pretty rough to all 3 of the above so please take care when driving!
On the first day of our Nusa Penida tour we took a day trip with @balinusapenidatour who covered all the iconic spots with ease, so if you’d rather visit with a car and a driver we can recommend them.

The Natural Pool At Tembeling Nusa Penida
As soon as we heard of Tembeling Natural Pool there was no way we were not going to visit!
The few photos we found on google looked crystal blue. It would be just like we’d imagined our time on Nusa Penida to be spent – jumping into things.
The start of the trail was easy enough to find. Although as soon as you turn off the main road the track leading down is definitely the worst we encountered on Penida!

It’s a long walk down so it would benefit you if can you take the bike down. But please be careful!
Once you get as far as the bike is allowed the concrete stairway is pretty straight forward. It leads down to one huge pool – Tembeling Natural Pool – and through the forest onto the beach.

The beautiful Tembeling Natural Pool Nusa Penida
We arrived pretty late and apart from one elderly man having his daily bath, we were the only ones there. We dived straight into the refreshing water and after the couple of days adventuring we’d had it was an incredible way to finish!
The old man left, and we rushed to get dry and run down to the beach for sunset. It was definitely one of those ‘had to be there’ moments as we sat back on our private beach and watched the sun go down before heading up through the eerie forest to find our bike in the dark!
