8 Things To Do In Ubud That You Cannot Miss

8 Things To Do In Ubud That You Cannot Miss

Touching down in Bali, we knew Ubud was top of the list of places to visit. So we explored, and explored a bit more, until we could put together this things to do in Ubud guide of the zen capital.

8 Things To Do In Ubud

1. Tegalalang Rice Terrace

Possibly the most popular of the things to do in Ubud and definitely the most famous rice fields in Asia.

The beautiful tiers of green shine amongst the sun and make for an awesome afternoon walk in Ubud.

2. Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary

This place will have you entertained for hours. The monkeys are the tamest of those we’ve seen in Asia and are so used to people. So if you are a little nervous this is definitely the place to conquer your monkey fears. Buy a banana, hold your arm straight out and watch them climb! Make sure to add this to your list of things to do in Ubud.

3. Love Bali Sign

Not so much as a thing to do, but definitely the postcard shot most visitors are looking for when heading to Bali.

This colourful swing has become more and more popular and is appearing in most Bali visitors Instagram feeds. If you’re looking to capture this shot it can be found near the entrance to the Tegalalang Rice Terraces.

4. Campuhan Ridge Walk

A beautiful stroll on a sunny day. The Campuhan Ridge Walk leads you through the middle of Ubud and takes around 1.5 hours to complete. Make sure to take plenty of water and head off a little earlier to avoid peak midday heat.

5. Tegenungan Waterfall + Waterfalls Near Ubud

Some of the waterfalls near Ubud are known as the best waterfalls in Bali.

If you hit it on a hot day Teguenungan Waterfall is heaven. Take a dip in the water, take some photos and take some friends for an awesome day out.

Another couple of our favourite waterfalls near Ubud are Leke Leke and Tibumana Waterfall. A simple yet relaxing waterfall accessible to the whole family.

6. Mount Batur Hike

One of the highlights of our whole Bali trip.

We set off with our Mount Batur trekking guide at around 2am and reached the summit for sunrise! A testing climb at points but well worth the early wake up and a great team bonding experience climbing an active volcano with the Intro Travel team.

7. Shopping In Ubud – Ubud Markets

If you’re looking for Balinese markets Ubud is full of them. Having a walk through the Main Street and branching off can definitely kill a few hours and you may even find some unique buys in the Ubud markets.

8. Take A Cooking Class Ubud

A must do in Bali, and where better for a cultural cooking experience than Ubud. We cooked up an awesome feed and took away a few recipes for home testing in our Balinese cooking class. A cooking class is one of the most popular things to do in Ubud.

Where To Eat In Ubud

Cinta – In our opinion the best food in Ubud by far. After an evening of fine dining we popped back in the morning for the breakfast menu!

Where To Stay In Ubud

Luxury – A couple of recommendations we can give are Alaya Resort which is in a league of its own in Ubud and of course Hanging Gardens Of Bali which are just outside of Ubud.

Mid-Budget – Pertiwi Bisma 2 – A little hint of luxury up in the peaceful palm tree forest! The grounds were immaculate and each villa was faultless.

Backpacker – Sila Urip Guest House – Great reviews at a tiny price for the middle of the island.

We’re planning a trip to Bali beginning of June. How many days/nights do you recommend in Ubud? 🙂
    Thanks a lot

Heyyy. For Ubud we’d recommend at least 2/3 nights to cover the main spots 😁🙌🏼
