Turtle Island, as it’s also known, is famous for it’s diving and is one the hottest things to do on Koh Tao.
Many tourists flock to the Thai island each year to explore the underwater world and hopefully get on their way to becoming certified divers.
With dive and snorkel shops lined up along the coast and all throughout town there are plenty of options. Although everyone we seemed to speak to mentioned Big Blue Diving!
Koh Nang Yuan Island, apart from diving, has become one of the main reasons tourists flock to Koh Tao every year.
Many people choose to get the early taxi boats from Sairee Beach and spend the whole day lapping up the sun in the soft sand paradise.
There are a few separate swimming areas on Koh Nang Yuan.
One is more for snorkelling where you can find a Japanese Garden and many tropical fish. The others are where people tend to just chill out and relax.

John Suwan Viewpoint is easily the most well known Koh Tao Viewpoint available to the public.
It get’s quite busy at the top as it’s becoming more and more popular amongst tourists. Although it’s well worth the visit.
It’s a small hike to the summit. It takes around 15-20 minutes in total and the trek is of fairly mediocre level. The real battle though is against the heat and humidity!

The most romantic of the Koh Tao Viewpoints. If you’re looking for one of the best things to do on Koh Tao as a couple this is ideal.
This incredible panoramic spot at Love Koh Tao has everything you need for a relaxing afternoon. The romantic terrace cafe overlooks Tanote Bay on the east coast of the island.
With satisfying views overlooking the Gulf of Thailand and ice cold fruit shakes, it’s the perfect place to wind down and spend a few peaceful moments.

Sairee Beach Koh Tao is a huge 2km stretch of sand located on the West side of the island.
It’s up there with one of the best beaches on Koh Tao as it’s definitely the most popular spot for sunset on the island.
Bean bags are lined up along the beachfront restaurants and fairy lights line the palm trees. It’s a super family friendly spot in the evenings!
There are swings and oddly shaped palm trees along the beach that make for a perfect photo opportunity and the ideal place to base yourself for your Koh Tao visit.
