We stayed in the Thong Sala area of Koh Phangan and rented scooters for 180 Baht per day.
It’s definitely the easiest way to explore the island and took just 5 minutes to reach Thong Sala Night Market every evening.

FOOD!! Lots and lots of delicious and different foods!
From local fried meats to vegan and vegetarian options the food varies from 20 baht snacks to 100 baht meals.
Not only is the food cheap but there are shakes and desserts a plenty.
Our go-to was the little Thai lady with the vegetarian burritos, followed by a coconut shake and a donut! Bon-appetite!
Every Saturday evening the old Thong Sala high street gets closed off between 4pm-10pm.
Food, clothes & crafts can be found laid out on stalls running adjacent to Thong Sala Beach.
It’s a great community feel and you can find some real bargains on the clothes stalls!
The whole town comes out for the Thong Sala Saturday Night Market. So if you’re looking for something different to do with your Saturday night, and want to see some smiley local faces whilst filling your belly at the same time, then this is an awesome spot to hang out.

Budget – Oasis Hostel – Situated in Thongsala, within 900 yards of Thongsala Pier and 650 yards of Thongsala Walking Street, OASIS hostel offers free WiFi. All rooms feature a kitchen and a shared bathroom. Thong Sala is a 7-minute walk from the property. All units at the hostel come with a seating area. Guest rooms will provide guests with a microwave.
